Careers advice set for Secondary 5 students

The Labour Department will provide career advisory and counselling services to Secondary 5 students from August 9 to 14.

 

Two advisory centres will provide one-stop advisory and counselling services to students and parents. Information on careers development in various trades and industries, vocational training and choosing careers will be provided.

 

There will also be material on various programmes suitable for the students, such as the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, the Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme and the Youth Self-employment Support Scheme.

 

The centres will operate from 9am to 5.30pm from August 9 to 13, and 9am to noon on August 14. They are at:

* the Career Information Centre, Labour Department, 34/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong; and,

* the Career Information Centre, Labour Department, Room 929, 9/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon

 

Students can also share their experience and seek advice by calling 2152 5055 or chatting at the department's online chatroom (www.careers.labour.gov.hk). Duty officers at the centres will give advice when necessary as chatroom hosts.

 

The hotline and chatroom will operate from 9am to 7pm from August 9 to 10; from 9am to 9pm from August 11 to 13; and from 9am to noon on August 14.
