Weekend expo set for secondary school leavers

*

The free Information Expo for Secondary School Leavers will be held July 31 and August 1 from 10am to 7pm at Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill.

Offering information on further studies and job opportunities, more than 20 exhibition booths will handle enquiries and disseminate news on various courses and schemes, including sub-degree and vocational training programmes.

Participants will be able to apply on the spot for the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme and the Youth Self-employment Support Scheme.

They can receive counselling on further studies and employment opportunities, consult the Labour Department's online interactive employment service, and browse related websites.

There will also be talks on strategies for further study and vocational training, as well as advice on reducing stress while awaiting exam results.

Hard copies of the Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary 7 Graduates, Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary 5 Graduates and the Handbook for Form 5 Students: In Pursuit of Job & Continuing Learning Opportunities will be distributed at the venue.

The event is jointly organised by the Education & Manpower Bureau and the Labour Department, with the assistance of the Association of Careers Masters & Guidance Masters and Hong Kong Education City.
