The Youth Job Expo will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on April 7, providing on-the-spot applications for over 1,700 vacancies and the latest employment information.
Forty-four companies from sectors like retail, catering, telecommunications, property management and business services will take part. Of them, 27 will recruit or conduct interviews.
The vacancies cover positions such as bank tellers, accounting clerks, customer liaison officers, engineer trainees, technicians, assistant shop supervisors, sales assistants, sales representatives and catering service assistants, with monthly salaries mainly ranging from $4,000 to $8,000.
Salaries of particular posts requiring relevant working experience can reach $10,000. However, more than 70% of the vacancies are suitable for applicants without experience.
Exhibitions and talks will be held to introduce the Labour Department's employment services and training schemes for young people. Video shows on job search techniques and job traps will also be screened.
The department will conduct on-the-spot job registration and demonstrations on the use of the Interactive Employment Service Website and Vacancy Search Terminals. Job seekers may also search for suitable vacancies registered with the department online.
The expo will be held from 10.30am to 6pm and admission is free.
