About 700 property management vacancies will be available at a recruitment forum to be jointly staged by the Labour Department and the Employees Retraining Board on October 7.
Fifteen property management companies will participate. All are members of the Association of Property Management Companies.
Jobs available include building manager, building supervisor, building attendant, security guard, customer services officer, club assistant, technician and cleaner. Salaries range from $4,000 to $20,000. These vacancies are suitable for middle-aged job seekers.
Applications can be submitted on the spot. Some companies will conduct on-site interviews.
Employers in the sector and retraining bodies will conduct briefings and show videos that outline prospects for employment in the property-management trade.
The department will register job seekers on site while the board and retraining bodies will accept applications for their retraining courses, including those on property management.
The forum will be held at the Stars Atrium, Level I, Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill, from 2pm to 6pm. Admission is free.
Youth training programme capacity increased
The department has increased the training places offered by the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme this year to 18,000.
Youths aged 15 to 19 who missed the first recruitment exercise in August are welcome to enrol for additional courses from October to December.
Applications should be made to the appointed training bodies of the programme. For details, visit the programme's website.
It focuses on leadership, discipline and team building; job-search and interpersonal skills; computer applications and job-specific skills.
Upon completion of the training, trainees can advance to a one-month workplace attachment in Government departments, social service institutions or public and private organisations.
An allowance of $1,000 is payable to trainees upon completion of the attachment.
