City University Professor Wong Yuk-shan has been reappointed Chairman of the Curriculum Development Council for a two-year term starting today.
Six new members have also been appointed. They are Cinda Chan, Professor Chan Wing-ming, Lai Shu-ho, Professor Albert Lee, Tsang Chi-hung and Yung Heung-hung. Secretary for Education & Manpower Professor Arthur Li welcomed their appointment.
"With their professional knowledge in curriculum reform in various stages of education, I am confident they will be able to make positive contributions and provide effective support to the development of the council," Professor Li said.
He also thanked out-going members Chan Yuk-kai, Cheng Wai-fung, Chow Luk Ying-pui, Ho Kit-ching, Dr George Hung, Maggie Koong, Professor Lee Wing-on, Leung Pui-han, Ng Hok-ling, Wong Mak Kit-ling and Professor Yip Din-yan for their contributions.
The council advises the Government on all matters relating to curriculum development for the local school system from kindergarten to the sixth form.
All appointments are for a period of two years with effect from September 1.
