New health course set for school staff

Health Promoting School

A course has been set up providing principals and teachers a better understanding of the issues related to health policies and the physical environment in their schools.

The three-day Health Promoting School will be held July 3 and 30 at Pui Ching Education Centre, 42 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon.

The course is in line with measures implemented by Team Clean to establish a sustainable and cross-sectoral approach to improving Hong Kong's environmental hygiene.

It also helps schools formulate health policies and understand the relationship between health promotion and the school curriculum.

The Education & Manpower Bureau, Department of Health and Chinese University are jointly organising the course.

There will be two places for each school, with preferences given to nominees who are school heads or teachers involved in the promotion of moral and civic education in schools.

For enquiries, please contact the Curriculum Development Institute's Senior Curriculum Development Officer, KT Kwan, at 2892 5824.

For enrolment arrangements, please contact Frances Cheng or Grace Au of the Centre for Health Education & Health Promotion at 2693 3074.
