Postmaster General Luk Ping-chuen has launched another stamp design competition for kids, around the theme of favourite toys and games.
The contest aims to let Hong Kong kids express their feelings about their play things through. It also encourages their design talent. At the same time, it stimulates their interest in stamp collecting, a hobby with universal appeal that is best developed at an early age.
Entries will be accepted from today until May 31. All children who are residents of Hong Kong and who are aged eight to 12 at the time of the deadline for entries are eligible to participate.
There are four grand prizes, each with a cash award of HK$2,000 and a trophy. The winning designs may be used to produce a set of Children's Stamps to be issued next year.
A number of Certificates of Merit will also be awarded and all participants will receive a souvenir from Hongkong Post.
Application forms will be available at all post offices from today. They can also be downloaded from the website, www.hongkongpoststamps.com.
