3 senior officers promoted

 

Three senior Administrative Officers have been promoted to new posts.

 

Deputy Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology (Communications & Technology) Marion Lai will become Director-General of Telecommunications, succeeding Au Man-ho who will retire after 35 years' service.

 

Deputy Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands (Planning & Lands) Annie Tam will become Director of Lands, succeeding Patrick Lau who will also retire after 35 years' service.

 

And Secretary to the Commission on Poverty Stephen Fisher will assume the post of Director of Social Welfare.

New roles: Marion Lai, Annie Tam and Stephen Fisher will take up the posts of Director-General of Telecommunications, Director of Lands and Director of Social Welfare from July 1.

Rich experience 

Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue said all the appointments are effective from July 1, and she applauded the three officers' experience, leadership and management abilities.

 

"I have every confidence they will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in their new capacities, and ably lead their offices to meet the challenges ahead," Miss Yue said.

 

She thanked Mr Au and Mr Lau for their commitment to the civil service and contribution to Hong Kong, wishing them a happy retirement.
