COVID-19 hotlines to cease operation
The Government announced today that the COVID-19 hotlines (2125 1111/2125 1122/1830 111) under the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) will cease operation as from 8pm on April 18.
The enquiry hotline (1836 115) and the Chinese Medicine Service Hotline (1834 511) under the Hospital Authority will also cease to run at the same time as the CHP’s hotlines.
The decision to cease the hotline services came as COVID-19 is managed as an upper respiratory tract illness and demand for the services has dropped to an extremely low level.
As at April 13, over 2,880,000 calls have been handled by the COVID-19 hotlines under the CHP, while over 150,000 and 43,000 calls have been dealt with by the enquiry hotline and the Chinese Medicine Service Hotline under the Hospital Authority.
