Vaccination carnival on Dec 3

November 27, 2022

The outreach COVID-19 vaccination and publicity team will hold a parent-child carnival in Tsuen Wan on December 3 to encourage more people to bring their children and family members to get vaccinated.

The "Children with jabs, parents with ease" parent-child carnival will be held at the D·PARK atrium on Level 1 from 11am to 4.30pm.

There will be COVID-19 vaccination-themed game booths designed by teachers, students and parents from a number of kindergartens to enhance the public’s understanding of the importance of COVID-19 vaccination.

A sharing session on COVID-19 vaccination by a paediatrician and artists will be held at 3.30pm.

A mobile vaccination station will be set up at the venue and will operate from 11am to 4pm.

For the first time, five kinds of COVID-19 vaccine will be provided at one venue for people of different ages to receive on site. They include the BioNTech ancestral strain vaccine, the Sinvoac vaccine, the paediatric formulation of the BioNTech vaccine, the toddler formulation of the BioNTech vaccine and the BioNTech bivalent vaccine.

Apart from registration for vaccination on the spot, citizens may call the hotline at 4657 8365 to make a vaccination appointment from today.

Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung said following the launch of the vaccination service for the BioNTech bivalent vaccine, members of the public will have more vaccination options and parents can choose between the Sinovac vaccine and the toddler formulation of the BioNTech vaccine for their young children.

So far, only around 20% of children aged below three have been vaccinated. Mrs Yeung hoped that more parents would be able to understand the importance and urgency of COVID-19 vaccination through activities such as the parent-child carnival and workshops.
