September 27, 2022

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department announced that it will hold a camping activity at Tai Po Waterfront Park on November 12 and 13 for parents and their children to enjoy a pleasant weekend at designated lawns in the park.

As part of the Happy@Parks campaign, starting at 2.30pm on November 12 onwards, the camping activity will comprise kite-making and flying, lawn bowl games and tours to see a floral display and the park’s Spiral Lookout Tower.

Participants can also enjoy night events that include stargazing, folk singing, an insect house experience tour and insect appreciation from 7pm to 10.30pm.

Additionally, an Ecological Path tour, tree orienteering, kite flying and family fun games will be held the following day, starting at 7.30am.

Apart from the parent-child camping participants, members of the public are welcome to join such events on the spot and admission is free.

Applicants for the parent-child camping activity should enrol in a family unit, with a minimum of two and a maximum of four people, including parents and at least one participant aged under 18.

Application forms can be obtained from the department’s district leisure services offices and applications may be submitted through the Leisure Link webpage or its self-service kiosks from tomorrow to October 7.

Place allocation will be made by ballot on October 18 for the parent-child camping activity if the number of applications exceeds quota.
