HK sees 25k COVID-19 cases

March 7, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 25,150 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 32 are imported and the rest are locally infected.

A total of 417,373 positive cases were recorded in the past 14 days, comprising 94 imported and 417,279 locally acquired cases.

Separately, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover six buildings where sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

They include Sheung Ching House, Yuet Ching House and Mun Ching House of Kai Ching Estate in Kowloon City, Cheong Yee House and Yat Yee House of Yee Tsui Court in Chai Wan as well as Tin Kei House of Shun Tin Estate in Kwun Tong.

People in the restricted areas must undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Kwai Tsing, Wong Tai Sin, Tsuen Wan, Tai Po and North District, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in such areas from tomorrow.

To tie in with the full service resumption of the Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse, the service of the mobile specimen collection station at the Sheung Shui Cycling Entry/Exit Hub will be extended to 8pm starting tomorrow to facilitate the testing of slaughterhouse practitioners.
