HK sees 56k COVID-19 cases

March 3, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 56,827 additional COVID-19 cases, of which two are imported and the rest are locally infected.

A total of 262,319 positive cases were recorded in the past 14 days, comprising 104 imported and 262,215 locally acquired cases.

Separately, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover five buildings where sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

They include Yiu Tai House of Tin Yiu (II) Estate in Yuen Long, Block 6 of Mayfair Gardens in Tsing Yi, Ming Yiu Lau of Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin, Shek On House of Shek Lei (l) Estate in Kwai Chung and Tak Ying House of Tak Long Estate in Kowloon City.

People in the restricted areas must undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

As there were positive sewage test results in several areas of Kwai Tsing, Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong, Eastern, Wong Tai Sin and Sha Tin districts, the Home Affairs Department will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleansing workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.
