Aid for amusement places disbursed

January 26, 2022

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today said it had started to gradually disburse subsidies to successful applicants of the Places of Amusement Licence Holders Subsidy Scheme under the fifth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund.

The scheme has been open for applications from last Monday until January 31, with the vetting procedures concurrently commenced during the application period. As of yesterday, more than 36 applications were received, of which 14 were approved, involving subsidies of $700,000. The payments will be deposited directly into the applicants’ specified bank accounts.

Aiming to relieve eligible licence holders whose businesses have been directly affected by the Government’s anti-epidemic and social distancing measures, the scheme provides a subsidy of $50,000 to each billiard establishment, public bowling alley and public skating rink operating with a licence issued under the Places of Amusement Regulation.
