Orderly testing:

Government staff assist people in the Tsing Yi restricted area to register for COVID-19 testing.

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises and enforcement operations for the two restricted areas in Sham Shui Po and Tsing Yi finished today with no positive COVID-19 cases found.

It made restriction-testing declarations yesterday evening, requiring people within the two specified areas to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.

The areas covered Tung Moon House, Tai Hang Tung Estate in Sham Shui Po and Wang Sin House, Cheung Wang Estate in Tsing Yi where 422 and 1,184 citizens were tested.

In the subsequent enforcement operations, around 393 people’s test records were checked. Seven people were found to have not undergone mandatory testing.

Government staff also visited around 656 households in the two restricted areas, of which some 51 did not answer the door. Such households are urged to contact the Government promptly to arrange testing.

According to the compulsory testing notices issued yesterday, those who had stayed in these two buildings within a specified period for more than two hours must undergo testing by tomorrow even if they were not in the restricted areas when the declarations took effect.
