No new COVID-19 cases in HK

October 10, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection announced that as of midnight, no new COVID-19 cases have been recorded, leaving the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong at 12,261.

Meanwhile, the centre is investigating an overseas COVID-19 case involving a 54-year-old woman who lives at Block 2, Seaview Crescent in Tung Chung.

She is asymptomatic and had received two doses of the BioNTech vaccine in March and April in Hong Kong.

The patient, who is an aircrew member, tested negative in Hong Kong on October 6 and travelled to Australia on flight CX101 the next day. Her specimen collected in Australia on the same day tested positive.

As a prudent measure, the building where the patient stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period is included in a compulsory testing notice. The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station in Tung Chung tomorrow.

As several outdoor mobile stations could not operate today due to weather conditions, the stations in North Point, Yuen Long and Tai Wai will reopen tomorrow.

A total of 76 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, one of which is a local case with an unknown infection source and the rest are imported.
