​The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today said it fully supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ issuance of a fact sheet setting out the US’ malicious acts in interfering in Hong Kong affairs and supporting anti-China, destabilising forces.

The US has been colluding with anti-China, destabilising forces for years and disseminating anti-China comments and thoughts via organisations and individuals with ulterior motives, the Government explained. These were done to incite emotions and advocate ideas like Hong Kong independence and self-determination, seriously jeopardising the sovereignty, security and development interests of the nation.

Hong Kong had also become a gaping hole in national security, putting the city’s prosperity and stability at risk, it stressed.

It continued to emphasise that as the ministry has now exposed the US’ malicious acts with ironclad evidence, Hong Kong people can now grasp the facts, understand clearly the years of interference by external forces, and avoid falling prey to the US’ malicious attempts.

Additionally, the Hong Kong SAR Government said it is grateful to the central authorities for their resolute actions in enacting the National Security Law at a critical juncture, allowing it to prevent, suppress and impose punishment for any act endangering national security.

Following the improvement of Hong Kong’s electoral system, individuals with anti-China sentiment are prevented from entering the city’s political system through elections, demonstrating the full and faithful implementation of the “patriots administering Hong Kong” principle institutionally, the Government noted.

Hong Kong society has since been transformed from chaos to governance, and gradually towards development and prosperity, it highlighted. With the country’s staunch support, Hong Kong’s business environment not only remains intact, but is presented with unlimited potential with the enormous opportunities brought about by the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development.

The Hong Kong SAR Government will continue to enforce the National Security Law resolutely and execute the “patriots administering Hong Kong” principle fully and faithfully. It will also firmly oppose and guard against foreign forces interfering in Hong Kong’s internal affairs, the Government added.
