The Government issued the isolation order for 20, 22, 24 and 26 Reclamation Street in Yau Ma Tei to stop people from entering or leaving those buildings, the Centre for Health Protection said today. 

The centre’s Communicable Disease Branch Head Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan explained at a press briefing this afternoon that the situation at these buildings is unique.

“The situation in these buildings, I mean the even number buildings of 20-26 Reclamation Street, is special because there are lots of subdivided flats and we do not have a name list of all the residents in those buildings.

“Although Police and our department have conducted four rounds of operations to knock on doors to ask people to come out, we are not sure whether all the residents have been moved to the quarantine camp."

Dr Chuang said the isolation order also facilitates contact tracing.

“We also noticed that some local residents say that there are some people who came back to the buildings and went in and out of the buildings.

“That’s why we issued an isolation order to stop people from coming in or going out. In case there is anyone going out of the buildings or coming in, we can stop them and check whether they are residents of those buildings and put them under quarantine. 

“This is a special situation in which we need to issue an isolation order to facilitate our contact tracing.”
