1 COVID-19 death reported

The Hospital Authority today said a 73-year-old female patient passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who died in public hospitals to 108.

 

The patient with chronic illness was admitted to the intensive care unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on October 2 due to a fever, vomiting and diarrhea and later tested positive for the virus.

 

After treatment, she tested negative for COVID-19 and was released from the isolation order by the Department of Health on October 19.

 

The patient required mechanical ventilation due to respiratory failure and remained in intensive care for treatment. Her condition continued to deteriorate and she passed away this afternoon.
