Kowloon City mobile virus testing set

December 1, 2020

The Government said it arranged for a testing agency to set up a mobile specimen collection station in Kai Tak Community Hall in Kowloon City to provide free COVID-19 testing services from today.

The collection station's operating hours are from 2pm to 8pm on December 1, and after that from 10am to 8pm daily. It will operate until December 4.

Other mobile specimen collection stations in Tsuen Wan, Sai Kung and Tai Po will continue to operate.

The testing agency, Hong Kong Molecular Pathology Diagnostic Centre, will provide specimen collection services by combined nasal and throat swabs at the mobile specimen collection station.

Those who are subject to compulsory testing and undergo testing at the mobile specimen collection stations will be deemed to have undergone a test at a community testing centre.

People whose test results are negative will be informed by SMS.

If a specimen tests positive for COVID-19, it will be referred to the Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.

The Government urged all individuals who are in doubt about their health condition or with infection risk, such as those who visited places with epidemic outbreaks or contacted confirmed cases, to get tested promptly.
