Quality migrant quota doubles to 2k

November 26, 2020

The annual quota of the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme has increased from 1,000 to 2,000, the Government announced today.

The quota boost aims to enlarge Hong Kong’s talent pool and strengthen its role as Asia’s world city.

Since its launch in June 2006, the scheme has been an important channel for Hong Kong to attract highly skilled or talented people globally to settle in the city.

Following the first Talent List’s release in August 2018, applications under the scheme have increased significantly, with the quota allotted rising from 411 in 2017 to 874 in 2019, the Government added.

It will continue to launch measures to attract highly skilled or talented people globally to develop their careers in Hong Kong.
