Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan today travelled to Guangzhou to attend a press conference and work plan meeting on the proposal on Chinese medicine development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from 2020 to 2025.

The event was organised by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Office of the Leading Group for the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the People's Government of Guangdong Province.

The proposal aims to foster collaboration among cities in the bay area on Chinese medicine in the aspects of medical services, scientific research, manpower training, industry development, internationalisation and more.

Prof Chan will return to Hong Kong this afternoon.

During her absence, Under Secretary for Food & Health Dr Chui Tak-yi will be Acting Secretary.
