CE to visit Shenzhen
Chief Executive Carrie Lam will lead a delegation of government officials to visit Liantang Port in Shenzhen on August 26 to attend the Liantang Port/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point opening ceremony.
The delegates will include Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Development Michael Wong, Secretary for Security John Lee, Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan, Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan, Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit, Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang, Commissioner of Police Tang Ping-keung, Commissioner of Customs & Excise Hermes Tang, Director of Immigration Au Ka-wang and Chief Executive's Office Director Chan Kwok-ki.
The cargo clearance facilities for use by cross-boundary goods vehicles at the new control point will open at 4pm that day.
Clearance services will not be opened at this stage for private cars, cross-boundary coaches, cross-boundary hire cars and passengers.
Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on the same day.
