The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 128 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 103 are locally transmitted and 25 are imported.

Among the local cases, 68 are linked to previous ones, while 35 are those with unknown sources of infection.

Noting that some recent cases involve elderly people, the centre strongly urged seniors to stay home as much as possible and avoid going out.

The elderly should consider asking their family and friends to help with everyday tasks such as shopping for necessities, the centre added.

Additionally, the Hospital Authority reported that 900 confirmed COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised and 1,495 confirmed or suspected patients have been discharged.
