URA Board Chairman named

Chow Chung-kong will succeed Victor So as the Urban Renewal Authority Board Chairman for three years from May 1, the Government announced today.

 

Welcoming the appointment, Secretary for Development Michael Wong said Mr Chow, who has a long record of public service and vast experience in the business sector, will be able to lead the authority to meet future challenges.

 

Today also saw the appointment of nine new non-official non-executive directors. They are Vincent Cheng, Ivy Chua, Ho Wing-cheong, Lee Ho-yin, Elaine Lo, Prof Tang Bo-sin, Judy Tong, Andy Tong and Wong Yuen-shan.

The development chief thanked Mr So and 10 outgoing non-official non-executive directors for their contributions.

 

He said Mr So, who will soon have served for six years, has laid a solid foundation for the authority’s long-term development.
