The Film Archive will present 10 films featuring Sit Kok-sin in September and October to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the passing of the Cantonese opera master.
A superstar of both Cantonese opera and cinematic films in the 1930s, Sit began his operatic training in 1921, having premiered in more than 500 stage operas and starred in about 40 films.
The 10 Cantonese films to be screened span the 1930s to 1960s. They starred Sit or were adapted from his stage work, such as My Kingdom for a Husband and The Love Quadrangle.
They will be screened at 11am every Friday without subtitles.
Tickets are available at URBTIX.
