The Hong Kong Flower Show will be held at Victoria Park from March 11 and will feature 60,000 pots of Antirrhinum majus commonly known as the snapdragon flower as its theme.

The show, which is an "Appreciate Hong Kong" Campaign highlight event, will be open from 9am to 9pm until March 20.

The snapdragon is native to the Mediterranean coast and its genus name refers to the blossom's resemblance to an animal's nose. With its two-lipped corolla and wavy petals, the flower looks like a goldfish, earning it the Chinese nickname "goldfish grass".

Tickets are now available at Leisure & Cultural Services Department Leisure Link service points and will also be sold at the park entrance.
