City soul

City soul:  Jao Tsung-i (centre) opens his Central Library exhibition, flanked by Chief Executive CY Leung (second left) and Chief Secretary Carrie Lam (right).

Chief Executive CY Leung and Chief Secretary Carrie Lam opened an exhibition celebrating the 100th Birthday of Professor Jao Tsung-i at the Central Library today.

More than 100 of his works are on show until December 8.

It is the largest and most wide-ranging exhibition of his work ever held in Hong Kong.

Mrs Lam said Prof Jao has a deep connection to the city, noting the exhibition is entitled "Reminiscences of Hong Kong by the Brush".

The works reflect the eight-decade bond between him and Hong Kong.

Presented by the Home Affairs Bureau, the exhibition is jointly organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department.
