The Hong Kong YWCA Chinese Orchestra will hold a concert at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on November 23.
Guest conductor Zhang Lie will perform with young musicians including Lin Yu-hsien (dizi), Cheung On-kai (dizi), Chan Lut-ting (percussion), Kwan Lok-tin (suona) and Fung Siu-hong (suona).
The orchestra will perform the Hong Kong premieres of Wang Jianmin's
Stomp Dance and Gu Guanren's
Blue Fantasy.
Other pieces include
The Family Legend - The Moon at Dawn over Lugou Bridge,
Parade of Gods - a Masked Ritual,
Local Customs Along Huanghe (2nd, 4th Movement),
Oasis and
Guanshan Capriccio.
