To celebrate the opening of the revitalised Yau Ma Tei Theatre, the Film Archive will screen two Cantonese opera classics that were once screened there.
The programme, entitled "Opera Sight & Sound at Yau Ma Tei Theatre", will screen two films at 7.30pm on July 28 and July 29.
The films are "Three Trials of the Number One Scholar's Wife" (1958), a romantic tragedy starring Yam Kim-fai and Pak Suet-sin, and "The Heroes & the Beauty" (1962), starring Lam Kar-sing and Fung Wong Nui.
The films are in Cantonese without subtitles. Tickets priced at $40 are at URBTIX.
