Shanghai Chinese Orchestra heads to HK

The Shanghai Chinese Orchestra will hold two concerts in the New Year.
 
It will perform a Lunar New Year show at Sha Tin Town Hall on January 6, featuring festive, rousing music to help ring in the Year of the Dragon.
 
The show at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on January 7 will feature guest artists from various ethnic groups, creating a wonderful tapestry of music, symbolising the harmony and unity of the Chinese race.
 
Founded in 1952, the orchestra has become known for its lyrical timbre, distinguished style and virtuosity. It has given two Lunar New Year concerts in the Golden Hall at Vienna's Wiener Musikverein and are often invited to perform for visiting heads of state and dignitaries.
