Class suspensions continue

October 03, 2014

Principal Assistant Secretary for Education Sophia Wong said classes of all kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools in the Wan Chai and Central & Western districts would remain suspended tomorrow.

She said at a press conference today that if individual schools have all the necessary preparations and are ready, they can resume classes on Monday, to minimise the impact on students' learning.

Arrangements to be made include school bus and nanny bus routes, and pick-up points, lunchbox delivery and parent notifications, she said.

The Education Bureau will continue to maintain close contact with schools and assess the latest situation to make announcements on suspension or resumption of classes in the affected districts.

Ms Wong reminded schools to remain open and arrange for staff to look after any students who might arrive during the suspension.
