Barricades removed for public safety

October 13, 2014

Police removed barricades on the periphery of areas occupied by protesters in Central and Mong Kok from 5.30am this morning, to relieve traffic congestion and prevent traffic accidents.

The Police stressed that they were not clearing the protest sites.

Barricades near Central’s Des Voeux Road Central and Chater Road, and Mong Kok’s Argyle Street and Shanghai Street were removed.

Protesters should follow Police instructions, and not obstruct Police operations or charge Police officers. They are also urged to remove road barriers as soon as possible and leave in a peaceful and orderly fashion.
