Police officer’s death probed

Police are investigating the death of a police officer in North Point Police Station today. It is believed that he committed suicide with his service pistol.


At about 2.40am, an off-duty expatriate Chief Inspector, aged 50, attached to the Eastern District Crime Headquarters was found unconscious inside his office with gun shot wounds to his temples. He was later certified dead at the scene.


The Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Unit is investigating the case and a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
