Police have urged the organiser of a public procession to notify it of its protest plan to ensure it is conducted in a safe and lawful manner.
Police believe an organisation intends to conduct a procession to Government House tonight, but it has not notified authorities of its plan.
Police said it will contact the organiser and implement crowd safety management measures to ensure order and safety.
It said it respects freedoms of expression, speech and assembly, but people should comply with the law and maintain order when expressing their views.
It appealed to protest participants act peacefully and rationally.
