Chief Executive CY Leung has strongly condemned the attack on former Ming Pao chief editor Kevin Lau.
In a statement issued today, Mr Leung said he and the Government are extremely concerned about and outraged over the attack.
He said Hong Kong is a lawful society and will not condone violence, adding the Police will conduct a full investigation into the case.
"I appeal to those who could offer information on the case to contact the Police as soon as possible to bring the offender to justice."
