CE to act on Manila move

Chief Executive CY Leung says he will liaise with the Manila hostage tragedy victims and their families, after reports that Manila’s city council has passed a resolution authorising its mayor to issue a formal apology to Hong Kong over the incident.
 
Speaking to the media in Beijing tonight, Mr Leung said he has received a report from the Security Bureau on the matter, adding the Hong Kong and the Philippine governments have been in contact in recent weeks with Central Government support.
 
He said he will report to the public when progress has been made.
 
The bureau will contact the victims and their families to listen to their views, he added.
