Women arrested for suspected murder

Police today arrested two women for the suspected murder of a newborn baby in Yuen Long.About 10.30am today Police received a report that a 26-year-old woman gave birth to a baby inside a unit at Ying Lung Wai, Yuen Long, yesterday morning. She wrapped the baby in clothes and put it inside a plastic bag. She and her 32-year-old friend then dumped the baby at a refuse collection point at Ying Lung Wai.
The baby is believed to have been sent to the West New Territories Landfill in Tuen Mun.
Police and fire officers are searching the scene.
