The Property Management Services Bill, to regulate the property-management industry, was gazetted today and will be tabled at the Legislative Council on May 7.
The bill seeks to establish the Property Management Services Authority to implement the mandatory licensing regime for property-management companies and practitioners.
The authority will enforce the law, issue a code of conduct and take disciplinary actions against non-compliant companies and practitioners.
Subsidiary legislation covering the detailed licensing criteria, required licence application documents, fees and levy, and payment exemption will be proposed after LegCo passes the bill.
