Express rail on time, budget

Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung says construction of the Express Rail Link is on schedule, and the budget is on target.
 
Speaking to the media today, Prof Cheung said feedback from the Mass Transit Railway Corporation indicates good progress for the railway project, which links western Kowloon to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, as well as the National High-speed Rail Network on the Mainland.
 
“Our objectives to keep the construction work on track according to target and to keep expenses, the construction cost, within budget are still being met.”
 
In response to a news report claiming the project has gone over budget, Prof Cheung said he has received no such information from the MTRC.
