NE NT residents to be rehoused
September 02, 2012
Residents affected by the North East New Territories New Development Areas project will be locally rehoused, as the Government has reserved a 3.2 hectare site in Kwu Tung North rehousing.
The Planning Department and the Civil Engineering & Development Department said today the Government will ensure those affected will be offered reasonable arrangements, and affected farmers will get opportunities for agricultural rehabilitation.
The Government is reviewing the compensation and rehousing policy to provide better arrangements for facilitating site clearance in the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
A forum will be held on September 22 at HHCKLA Buddhist Ma Kam Chan Memorial English Secondary School in Luen Wo Market, Fanling.
The main objective of developing the project is to address the housing and employment needs arising from population growth.
