Long Ping Station project plans revised

April 27, 2012
West Rail Property Development’s Long Ping Station (South) development scheme has been revised, to comply with the Government's quality and sustainable built environment requirements that came into effect on April 1, 2011.

The Development Bureau today welcomed the announcement.

Key improvements include deleting one residential tower and commercial gross floor area, reducing the height of the podium from four storeys to two, and relocating the carpark to the basement to reduce development bulk.

Other amendments include widening the breezeways and visual corridors between towers to not less than 15 metres to enhance air circulation and visual permeability.

The proportion of small and medium-sized flats in the project has also been increased. The number of units with a saleable area of 50 square metres or less has increased from 99 to 428, bringing the ratio from 11 % to 59% of the total number of units.

The Town Planning Board published the revised scheme at Long Ping Station (South) today for public inspection until May 18. Subject to the board's approval, the project will be tendered in late 2012. The successful tenderer will then submit general building plans to the Building Authority for approval.

This is the sixth West Rail property development project which has been redesigned to comply with quality and sustainable environment requirements, following the revised schemes at Nam Cheong Station, and sites Tsuen Wan 5 (Bayside), Tsuen Wan 5 (Cityside), Tsuen Wan 6 at Tsuen Wan West Station and Long Ping Station (North).
