Channel group numbers for digital audio broadcasters were determined by ballot today.
The Digital Broadcasting Corporation, Metro Broadcast, Phoenix U Radio and Radio Television Hong Kong were drawn as channel group numbers 0 to 3. These numbers form the prefix of channels to allow listeners to choose specific channels.
The three licensees and RTHK will provide round-the-clock services on 18 channels - three each for Metro and Phoenix U, seven for Digital and five for RTHK, offering a wide variety of programme choices. Formal services will launch by year's-end.
Meanwhile, the Government proposes installing relay systems in 11 government road tunnels, including the Aberdeen, Cross-Harbour, Lion Rock and Tseung Kwan O Tunnels.
A
website has also been launched providing a wide range of information on digital audio broadcasting.
