The Centre for Food Safety has found the sodium content of a sample of oyster sauce from Taiwan to be inconsistent with the declared value on its nutrition label.
The sample of Sauceco Organic Vegetarian Mushroom Oyster Sauce 420ml has an expiry date of January 15, 2019.
Collected from a Tsuen Wan department store, the sample was found to have an actual sodium content of 4,300mg per 100ml, when its label says it should be 2,040mg per 100ml.
The centre urged the trade to stop selling the affected batch immediately.
