Lau Kong-wah visits Sha Tin

Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah visited Sha Tin today to observe initiatives for the creation of space and building of community facilities, and to meet district councillors.Accompanied by Sha Tin District Officer Cora Ho and District Council Chairman Ho Hau-cheung, Mr Lau first visited the project site for the creation of space in Sha Tin under the District-led Actions Scheme.
The site, situated beneath the flyover on Sha Lek Highway near To Shek Street and Sha Tin Wai Road, has an area of 5,000 square metres.
The proposed project will make use of unused land to create open space for multipurpose activities, targeting young people and families in the district.
Mr Lau then met with Sha Tin District Council members to exchange views and learn more about the overall development and issues of concern in the district.
To celebrate the Tuen Ng Festival, Mr Lau watched the dragon boat races on Shing Mun River and presented prizes.
