Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man visited Yuen Long today to inspect Chinese medical services and environmental hygiene conditions in the district.
He first visited the Chinese medicine centre run by Pok Oi Hospital to learn about its services which include general Chinese medical consultation, acupuncture and osteopathy.
He then went to Mau Tan Street and Yuen Long New Street to observe environmental hygiene in the area and the situation with illegal shop-front extensions.
Dr Ko later inspected Tai Kiu Market where he talked to stall tenants to gain a better understanding of their business operations.
Lastly, he met Yuen Long District Councillors.
