Arts co-operation to be bolstered

(March 22, 2016)

Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah says the Leisure & Cultural Services Department has maintained a close relationship with local arts groups that is full of mutual respect and trust.

Mr Lau's comments today follow the department being accused of censorship after the name of a Taiwanese university was amended on promotional leaflets for a drama production.

He told reporters that the department will look into how to strengthen its communication with artists to ensure good future co-operation.

Mr Lau added that Hong Kong has maintained close and active cultural relations with other parts of the world and expressed hoped that such fruitful exchanges would continue.
