Chief Secretary Carrie Lam today visited local athletes taking part in the UCI Track Cycling World Cup, a world-class event hosted in the city for the first time at the Hong Kong Velodrome.
Mrs Lam spoke with the Hong Kong Cycling Team and thanked head coach Shen Jinkang and team staff members for their dedication. She also chatted with local cyclist Sarah Lee and renowned British rider Mark Cavendish.
Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah visited the Velodrome this evening to support the athletes and present prizes for the Women's Keirin event and World Cup Round Winner.
The UCI Track Cycling World Cup is an "M" Mark event recognised by the Major Sports Events Committee and is an Appreciate Hong Kong campaign activity.
More than 300 elite cyclists from 39 countries and regions joined the competition held from January 15 to 17.
