Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing has commended the Hong Kong delegation competing in 28th Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea, for their outstanding performances.
Stephanie Au won the silver medal in the Women's 50m Backstroke, while she and three other Hong Kong athletes broke five records of the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China. They are Chan Ming-tai in the Men's Long Jump, Kent Cheung in the Men's 200m Freestyle, and Kwok Ka-fai in the Men's 200m Breaststroke.
The event will close tonight.
Mr Tsang said: "Hong Kong's athletes have demonstrated sportsmanship and strived for excellence in the Universiade. They are role models to the young and we take pride in them."
He also thanked the delegation heads, coaches, staff and the athletes’ families for their participation and support.
