An Oriental magpie robin found in Sai Kung has tested positive for the H5N6 virus, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department said today.
The sick bird was found on Sha Kok Mei First Lane on April 29.
The department will continue to conduct poultry farm inspections to ensure that proper precautions against avian influenza have been implemented.
Officials reminded people to avoid contact with wild birds or live poultry and to clean their hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
